Students study acting, singing and movement, through improv, theatre sports, scene study and much more. By perfecting their skills attained during class, students will be able to perform with confidence in a full-length SMASH musical at year end.

All Skill Levels and Abilities Welcome
Many children dream of performing on stage; and some kids just want to be a part of something special. SMASH Theatre School is a place for kids to grow and learn in the creative arts in an after school program. Musical theatre is a team sport, one in which builds confidence, self-esteem, and friendships.
New students are always welcome!
At SMASH Theatre School our main goal is to foster a warm, supportive, and nurturing learning environment so that students may feel safe to take risks and to stretch their unique skills in creative expression. We encourage 100% support from all participants towards their peers to allow for the freedom to explore.
During their classes at SMASH Theatre School, the students work on all aspects of theatre: movement, diction, scene study, musicality, choreography, theatre sport, improvisation, etc. To encourage the growth of our students, we work in both small group settings and full group collaboration. Students start at their own individual level, building on their unique skill set as the program progresses. All the while, the group works together as a cohesive unit to create our end result – a full-length musical production.
Learning doesn’t just take place in a classroom. It also occurs through rehearsals and performance. Being a part of an exciting show allows the students to learn the inner workings of being in a theatre and valuable lessons in stage etiquette. By being in the heart of the production they will feel the magic of theatre.
Students rehearse once a week September – June. During the final four weeks, students will rehearse Saturday or Sunday for 4 hours, (time to be determined), as well as their regular scheduled class.
Musical performance will be at the end of the year in May or June, date to be determined.
You’re not too late…
If you missed registration at the start of the term, new students are always welcome throughout the year! Musical performance is in May/June.
